A record number of competitors shoot the IWLA April IPSC match with 58 shooters competing in the 5 stage contest. We enjoyed seeing many new faces as well as the old regulars. Shooting was quick as most targets were at relatively close range with limited hardcover.

Two similar speed shoots were shot with a mover thrown in on each to keep everyone honest. Quick Exit I was a 10 round speed shoot with a mixture of steel and paper targets and a turner stuck in the middle. After activating the turner one or more targets had to be engaged for a quick time. Terry Zortman won the stage with a 4.02 second run, Art McGinnis had the only sub 5 second limited run.

Quick Exit II was again a 10 round speed shoot with a little more steel and a flopper instead of a turner. Once again, the number of additional targets engaged after the activator determined how quick your run would be. Rob Kamenski topped the stage with an 11.0 hit factor.

Sweep and Move was a wide open field course with targets spread out on each side of the range. Sweeping from target to target was necessary at each engagement location. Rob Kamenski moved quickly as he won his second open stage with a sub 9 second run, Art McGinnis won his second stage as well with a 12 second run.

The House is back again for 1999 with The House - 1999. This 24 round field course demanded short bursts of speed and accurate indexing through tight ports. With targets in and outside the house, and available from several locations, keeping to one's plan was essential. Terry Zortman had a 15 second run down just 3 points to take the House for April.

This months classifier, The Gauntlet II, was a 16 round field course with some tight and some wide open shots. Staying in motion was a key to success on this stage as an 8 foot box in the center of the stage invited shooting on the move. Terry Zortman won his 3rd stage of the match with a 6.16 hit factor.

Shooting a consistent match, Rob Kamenski was High Over All and Art McGinnis was High Limited. Other class winners were - 1M - Terry Zortman, 1A - Adam Benson, 1B - Pete Barrett, 1C - Anna Travis, 1U -Gary Travis, 1BL - Ed Jones, 1CL - Dan Blevins, 1DL - Frank Miller, 1UL - Dwight Dorsey,1 Lady - Anna Travis, 1 Lady L - Hilda Solito. Congratulations to all match and class winners.

It is your responsibility to verify that the information we have is correct, as classifier info and payouts may be incorrect and we will not guess about your alpha list information. Please check and revise the info each match.
